Best Snow Blower
Top Rated Snow Blowers Site Map |
What is the Best Snow Blower? The answer to the question of what is the best snow blower will depend on several factors. In other words, snow blowers are not a "one size fits all" sort of machine. What is the size of the area you need to clear of snow? How much snow does your area typically receive in an area? How much money do you have to spend? These questions and more will be factors in determining the best snow blower for your particular application.
Craftsman 9.0HP Snow Blower To begin, there are some general rules to keep in mind. In general, gas powered 2 stage machines are often going to be the best snow blower in terms of being able to remove lots of snow in each pass. In addition, higher horsepower snow blowers are usually better able to handle large amounts of heavy snow. If you have a lot of snowfall in your area, then you probably want to look at a gas powered snow blower with a minimum of 8 HP. If your area doesn't get much snow, then the best snow blower for your situation might be one with a smaller engine. Just keep in mind that you are better to error on the "too powerful" side. If you buy an underpowered snow blower, then you might be wishing you had chosen up the scale during a particularly hard winter. Personally, the author of this article likes Sears for power equipment. The reason is that Sears has a good warranty, good selection of machines, and they also have parts for future maintenance, service, and repairs.
Toro 1800 Power Curve Electric Snow Blower If your snow removal needs are much lower, and the area where you have to clear is not too big, then the best snow blower for you might be an electric machine. Of course, an electric snow blower will also require you to have an electrical outlet handy and a long enough extension cord to reach the area that you need to clear of snow. Many people like the Toro 1800 Power Curve electric snow blower. Just remember that you will not be able to effectively clear massive snowfalls in a large area with some of these smaller electric machines. Even so, many people have been impressed at how well this smaller Toro snow blower actually works. So, back to our original question... what is the best snow blower for you? Do you have a large driveway and a lot of walkways to clear? Are the areas you need to clear far away from electrical outlets? Does your area get a lot of snowfall? If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, then you probably want to be looking for a gas powered snow blower. If you get a lot of heavy snow fall, then you probably want to be looking at a 2 stage machine with a large engine like the Craftsman 2 stage 9.0HP snow blower. Are your snowfalls light to moderate? Is the area you need to clear relatively small? Is an electrical outlet conveniently located nearby the area that needs to be cleared? If you can answer "Yes" to these questions, then a less expensive, less powerful electric snow blower like the Toro 1800 might be the best snow blower for your needs. Just remember, you will usually be better off buying a machine more powerful than you expect to normally need. Then, when you have that winter with the record breaking snowfall, your back will thank you that you chose the best snow blower!
