The Traxxas Revo is so technologically advanced and different from any other truck, that it is set to begin a new revolution in the RC monster truck world.  Because of this stir in the RC world, there will be a large number of Traxxas Revo Hop Ups and parts available from Traxxas as well as from a large aftermarket following.  Traxxas Revo hop ups and parts availability should grow to big proportions, and this should give the REVO owner many more great options for upgrading an already incredible truck.   Right now, aftermarket companies are working on producing new hop ups and upgrades.  The Revo design is already outstanding, but as always the aftermarket will find areas that can be improved upon in ways that give the REVO owner more options to upgrade and customize their truck according to their own style.

1) ENGINES:  One category of Traxxas Revo hop ups that should quickly develop is in the area of upgrade engines.  The Traxxas TRX 2.5R engine is based on the original TRX 2.5 engine with some additional refinements.  It is a powerful RTR small block engine.  No doubt, there will always an interest in more powerful engine options for those that have a need for more speed and power!  Look what happened with the Traxxas T-Maxx... Even after the more powerful TRX 2.5 engine was introduced, companies like Sirio came out with a drop in 1.9HP .18 engine upgrade for the T-Maxx.  In addition, Sirio released a high performance piston and sleeve kit for the TRX 2.5 engine.  The Sirio .18 T-Maxx engine has been superceded with a new .23 bolt on engine, so the ongoing battle to make new T-Maxx products continues and undoubtedly it will also develop into the Traxxas Revo realm as well.

The layout of the Traxxas Revo truck is different and so things like the header of the Revo TRX 2.5R is different than the T-Maxx TRX 2.5.  So, T-Maxx specific 2.5 engine upgrades like the Sirio .23 may not just bolt right in to the Revo without some tweaking or modifications.  UPDATE:  There is now a low cost conversion kit available for adapting the Sirio .23 to the Revo truck.

Engines like the Picco P2 .21 Medium Block Drop In T-Maxx engine will hopefully be modified (at least the engine mount) to also work with the new Traxxas Revo truck configuration.   We just mention these T-Maxx specific examples to give you an idea of what may be possible in the near future for the Revo.  In any case, there should be many exciting options for Traxxas Revo Hop Ups in the area of engine upgrades.  UPDATE: As it turns out, there are already low priced kits being developed with a special mount to fit the affordable and powerful Picco made Ofna Max21 engine into a Traxxas Revo.  The engine upgrade possibilities should be incredible with this exciting new truck! 

2) GEARING:  Another area of Traxxas Revo parts that will develop is in the realm of gearing options.  Different gear ratios and stuff like high strength steel spur gears will probably be developed.  These type of hop ups should give people options for different gear ratios to custom match their Revo to their driving conditions.  Also, high strength gear upgrades are usually popular on trucks with more popular engines that might overpower parts like plastic spur gears.  Traxxas offers different clutch bells, spur gears, and even different transmission gear sets to custom tailor the gearing and performance of the Revo truck.  Below are some images of Traxxas gearing parts.  

Another popular gearing product for the Traxxas Revo truck is the Robinson Racing Products Steel Combo gear set which includes a matched set of a hard steel clutch bell and a hard steel spur gear.  These high quality, high strength steel gear sets are popular replacements for Revo trucks with powerful engines that tend to overpower and strip the stock plastic spur gear.

3) ALUMINUM PARTS:  One of the most common areas of upgrade parts is in the area of aluminum parts, so there should be a large number of parts machined and formed out of aluminum to replace factory plastic parts or protect them from damage.  Parts like fuel tank guards, skid plates (front, center, rear), and billet aluminum suspension arms will probably be popular Traxxas Revo hop ups and upgrade parts.  Below are some thumbnail pictures showing some examples of aluminum Revo parts.
