Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End cost an estimated $300,000,000 to produce. Just to give you a comparison... that's more than the cost to purchase a Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet that can seat as many as 500+ people. In other words, $300 million dollars is a LOT of money to be spent on producing a movie. Naturally, movie makers don't make films so they can loose money, and you can bet that Disney didn't loose money on their popular Pirates of the Caribbean movie series.
